What is your typical response time for an emergency breakdown?

For emergency breakdowns holding up production we aim to be in contact the same day and on site as soon as access and travel allow. Call 084 690 1545 and tell us the machine, the symptom and the site — that determines what we bring and how fast we can be there.

How quickly can you attend a planned service or assessment?

Planned assessments and routine servicing are usually scheduled within 7 days. For pre-summer fleet sweeps we recommend booking ahead of the October peak so that any parts work can be planned into a shutdown rather than forced during production.

Do you work after hours and over weekends?

Yes for breakdowns that are holding up production. Planned maintenance is scheduled into your production windows, which on continuous operations often means night shift or weekend work.

What information do you need when we call about a breakdown?

Machine type and number, the symptom and when it started, any recent HVAC work done, and site access requirements. That determines what parts and tooling we bring on the first visit.

Why does mining equipment air conditioning fail most often in summer?

Peak ambient temperature exposes marginal systems. A unit slightly low on refrigerant or with a partially blocked condenser copes in winter and fails at 38°C. Performance should be measured before summer, not during it.

Is a refrigerant top-up an acceptable repair?

No. Refrigerant is not consumed in normal operation. If a system needs regular top-ups there is a leak that should be located and repaired, then the system evacuated and recharged to specification.

Can you repair HVAC on site, or does the machine need to come to a workshop?

Filter, belt, coil cleaning and many electrical repairs can be done on site. Compressor replacement, leak repair and full evacuation and recharge are better completed where the machine can be safely isolated and stationary.

Why is the cab still hot even though the AC blows cold?

Usually that is heat load, not refrigeration: failed door seals, missing insulation, solar gain through glazing, or airflow too low to move cooled air into the cab. We measure airflow and sealing before touching the charge.

Why does dust still enter a cooled cab?

Cooling and sealing are separate functions. If door seals, floor grommets or the fresh-air path leak, the cab loses positive pressure and dust enters regardless of cooling performance. Seal inspection belongs in every HVAC service.

How often should mining equipment HVAC be serviced?

It depends on dust and duty. Machines in heavy dust or underground conditions often need attention at every routine service; lighter-duty vehicles can go longer. We set intervals from measured airflow and vent temperature, not calendar alone.

What does a fleet HVAC maintenance programme include?

A register of machines, a recorded baseline for each (vent temperature, airflow, filter and coil condition), agreed service intervals, scheduled visits, and reporting so you can see which machines are trending towards failure.

Can a programme cover both surface and underground machines?

Yes, with different intervals. Underground machines usually need shorter intervals because of humidity and wet dust, where surface work is dominated by dry dust and solar load.

Is fleet-wide servicing cheaper than fixing machines as they fail?

Generally yes. Batched work removes repeated call-outs and catches small leaks and blocked filters before they become compressor failures. The recorded baselines also make budgeting far more predictable.

Do you maintain machines you did not originally install or repair?

Yes. We start with a condition assessment so you know what state the fleet is actually in before intervals are agreed. That avoids committing to a programme on machines with hidden faults.
